'80s Metal History (November 11th)

November 11, 1988: With the band's future in question, Elektra issued the first live album from Dokken titled "Beast From The East" in North America (November 14th in the UK) featuring songs recorded in Japan during the "Back For The Attack" Tour. The LP was nominated for a US Grammy award.

November 11, 1983: Ozzy Osbourne's third studio album "Bark At The Moon" was scheduled to hit the streets in the UK, but Ozzy wasn't sold on the sound, so it was remixed and the release delayed. Source: Kerrang! - November 3, 1983.
November 11, 1983: Mötley Crüe launched the "Shout At The Devil" Tour, headlining at the Orange Pavilion in San Bernardino, California with openers Axe and Heaven. Crüe later joined Ozzy Osbourne's "Bark At The Moon" Tour in January 1984.

November 1976: KISS released their fifth studio album "Rock And Roll Over" in North America. To get a proper drum sound, Peter Criss recorded his tracks in a bathroom, communicating via video-link with the rest of the band. Punk-Metal Gods Motörhead brought a blitzkrieg to their home country with a barrage of shows that had the band playing nearly every night on the "Bomber" Tour of the UK. When the schedule was released in October 1979, Chester, England wasn't on the list, but they played the ABC Cinema on November 11th, opening with "Overkill", "Stay Clean" and "Metropolis".
November 1983: Released on their own label over a year earlier, the re-release of Queensrÿche's debut EP on EMI had renewed the attention of American rock radio with "The Lady Wore Black" starting to receive airplay again. R&R radio trade publication ad - November 11, 1983
November 11, 1984: Iron Maiden's "World Slavery" Tour was making its way across Europe with two shows in Italy. Meanwhile in the US, Bruce Dickinson was on the cover of Hit Parader Magazine, as the "Powerslave" album remained in the Top 30 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.
