November 26, 1983: Quiet Riot's "Metal Health" became the first heavy metal album to hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart. Although some have argued AC/DC should have that honor with "For Those About To Rock" reaching No. 1 in 1981.
November 26, 1984: From Metallica's "Ride The Lightning" album, "Creeping Death" was released as a single internationally, but in the US, Elektra issued "For Whom The Bell Tolls" as a promotional single to North American rock radio stations, with both edited and full-length versions. The edited version pointlessly shaved over one minute off the song 🤷♂️ Release date source: FMQB radio trade publication - November 16, 1984.
November 26, 1982: Michael Schenker Group brought the "Assault Attack" Tour to London's Hammersmith Odeon for two shows. Former singer Gary Barden was back with the band after Graham Bonnet was fired for exposing himself during his first MSG show.
November 26, 1980: Promoting the "Ace Of Spades" album, Motörhead concluded the UK "Ace Up Your Sleeve" Tour with the first of four shows at London's Hammersmith Odeon.
Canadian hard rockers Killer Dwarfs released their self-titled debut album featuring single "Heavy Mental Breakdown" in late 1983. The LP was nominated for a Juno award in 1984. Release information source: [UK] Music Week ad - November 26, 1983; Kerrang! ad - December 15, 1983.
November 26, 1982: Samson released their fourth studio album "Before The Storm" in the UK, their first with singer Nicky Moore, who replaced Bruce Dickinson after he joined Iron Maiden. Release date source: Record Mirror - November 20. 1982.
November 26, 1984: Exactly one year after "Metal Health" hit No. 1 in the US, Quiet Riot were headliners on the "Conditional Critical" Tour with support from Whitesnake and Armored Saint.
November 26, 1983: Opening with "Stand Up And Shout" and "Straight Through The Heart", DIO played Alabamahalle in Munich, Germany. The "Holy Diver" Tour would be in Zurich the next night before three more dates in Germany".
November 26, 1982: AC/DC played the first date of the "For Those About To Rock" European Tour at Messezentrum Halle in Nuremberg, Germany with support from Y&T.
November 26, 1987: Iron Maiden home video "12 Wasted Years" was released in Europe a month earlier and the band was interviewed by Metal Hammer Magazine to talk about it. (MH) "Does it seem like twelve years since it began?" (Steve Harris) "I suppose it does seem like a long time ago." (Dave Murray) "I joined about a year after that, so it's only eleven wasted years for me." 😁
