'80s Metal History (December 10th)
December 10, 2011: Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine joined Metallica onstage for five songs during Metallica's 30th Anniversary celebration at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Other guests included Ozzy Osbourne and King Diamond.
December 10, 1984: Iron Maiden's "World Slavery" Tour arrived in the US for 63 dates that began in Seattle. Twisted Sister opened most shows until mid-January 1985.

December 1986: Megadeth released "Wake Up Dead" as a single in the UK. The music video was later filmed in an airplane hangar where afterwards fired up fans painted graffiti all over planes and left beer cans on the runway. Dave Mustaine has said "we got a lot of shit for that." Release information source: Kerrang! ad - December 12, 1986.
After touring much of the year with Megadeth, Canadian thrashers Exciter released three-track EP "Feel The Knife" in 1985, featuring a studio recording of the title track plus two live songs from the tour. The EP was Exciter's last recording with the original lineup as guitarist John Ricci would leave and be replaced by Brian McPhee.
December 10, 1983: Ozzy Osbourne's third studio LP "Bark At The Moon" made its debut on both the UK Official album chart and US Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart, rising to No. 24 in the UK and No. 12 in the US in January 1984.
December 1988: BulletBoys reached the Top 10 on Dial MTV with single "Smooth Up In Ya" and radio programmers in America seemed caught off guard, which might explain why the song didn't chart in the US until the following June 🤔
Quiet Riot released their second studio album "Quiet Riot II" in 1978, the last to feature Randy Rhoads, who left the following year to join Ozzy Osbourne's band.
December 10, 1983: This ad announced Judas Priest were coming home for shows in the UK and bringing with them the hot new band from America, Quiet Riot.
Less than two years after replacing "Fast" Eddie Clarke, guitarist Brian 'Robbo' Robertson left Motörhead. Sounds - December 10, 1983
