'80s Metal History (October 25th)

Featuring "I Love It Loud" and the title track, KISS released their 10th studio album "Creatures Of The Night" in North America the last week of October 1982. "War Machine" and "Rock And Roll Hell" were co-written by Bryan Adams. Ace Frehley is on the cover, but Vinnie Vincent played on the record.

October 25, 1983: DIO brought the "Holy Diver" Tour to New York City for a show at the Beacon Theater. The setlist that night included "Holy Diver" and "Rainbow In The Dark" of course, but also "Stargazer" 🤘
October 1988: With Manowar's new album "Kings Of Metal" coming in November, it was revealed that founding member and guitarist Ross "The Boss" Friedman had quit the band. Bassist Joey DeMaio responded the split was amicable. -Kerrang!
October 1988: L.A. thrash/speed metal band Holy Terror released their second studio album "Mind Wars" that one review claims a riff was stolen by Dave Mustaine for "Hangar 18" on Megadeth's 1990 album "Rust In Peace". Metal Blade released "The Curse", the third and final studio album recorded by Omen's original lineup in October 1986. J.D. Kimball was later replaced by future Annihilator singer Coburn Pharr.
October 25, 1993: DIO released their sixth studio album "Strange Highways" in Europe and Japan (January '94 in North America), their first since Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice's short-lived reunion with Black Sabbath. Release date source: European trade magazine ad.
October 25, 1993: After W.A.S.P. left Capitol Records, the label issued compilation "First Blood Last Cuts" in the UK (February '94 in North America) featuring their many hit songs plus "Animal (F**k Like a Beast)" previously only available as a single. October 1994: American rock radio was on "A Tout le Monde", the first single from the forthcoming Megadeth album "Youthanasia" due Halloween night. Release information source: The Hard Report radio trade publication ad - October 21, 1994.
October 25, 2006: It was confirmed that Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward were reuniting to form Heaven and Hell with a tour in the spring and one new song already written for "Black Sabbath: The Dio Years".
KISS was back with their new album "Creatures Of The Night" and promoting Hit Parader Magazine in this ad by eating it because that's believable 😁 Pretty sure they read it first 😏
